The nephew and dícipulo Srila Rupa Goswami, is one of six Goswmais of Vrindavan. After the disappearance of Rupa Goswami and Sanatana Goswami. Srila Jiva Goswami became the peincipal Vaishnava acharya of the community. Srila Jiva Goswami is the best and most prolific scholar of his time.
